When Latham reached out to us, she was working out 6 days each week and not seeing any change. She was frustrated and felt that her age was partly to blame. In fact, these were her exact words from her consultation questionnaire: “I work out hard… sometimes 6 days a week. I don’t feel like I am seeing the results I would like. I realize that it is harder to lose weight at my age than when I was younger.”
We were used to hearing this all the time and knew we could help. We were excited for the challenge to prove to this married mother of 3 (two in college) that age wasn’t to blame. It was her nutrition. We knew that if she continued with her workouts and fed her body the optimal amount of fuel it needed in the appropriate ratios of protein, carbs and fats, she would begin to transform. From there, it was only a matter of her believing in the system and making it a lifestyle and to stick with it! And, that’s precisely what she did.
Latham’s original goal was to lose 13 lbs… she lost 19. Her original goal was to lose 7% body-fat… she lost 9%. And, now that she has attained her goals (and then some), we are implementing a metabolic reset/ reverse diet to slowly bring her metabolism back without adding back weight. We’re proud of Latham and have enjoyed working with her every step of the way!
Here’s what Latham had to say:
Before I began working with Copper State FIT, I had always exercised consistently, but I wasn’t consistent with my diet. Like many people, I never really worried about my diet in my 20’s and even into my early 30’s. I loved working out and teaching fitness classes, and as long as I was exercising, I didn’t gain any weight. Then I hit 40, and things started changing. I would try eating “healthy” for a few weeks, (in my mind meant eat less) only to feel frustrated when the scale didn’t move. I just assumed it wasn’t possible for me to lose weight.
When I had my initial consultation, we discussed how much I was already exercising, and I was told I was going to have to eat more! I have learned how to fuel my body with the nutrients it needs. I have really learned so much from the weekly coaching phone calls. And the support and information shared in the private group chat has also been informative. I have lost weight, inches, and body fat, and I have more energy than I had before.
