Jaime reached out to us after hearing that her sister Kori Rhode and her cousin Kacey Luvi Pearson were seeing results following a more flexible approach by tracking macros.  Jaime had a few reasonable goals in mind, 1) wear shorts in the summer with more tones legs, 2) wear tank tops without worry of arms jiggling and 3) be able to eat more than the 1200-1300 calories/ day that was provided on the “maintenance” plan from Weight Watchers.

Jaime had already lost most of the weight she wanted to lose, now she just wanted to tighten a few things up and be able to eat more.  This was the ideal situation to employ a “reverse diet” (a process of adding small incremental amounts of calories to the plan over a protracted period of time with the goal of restoring optimal metabolic function and increasing caloric capacity).

In the time she worked with us, Jaime went from eating 1200-1300 calories per day to up over 1700. Meanwhile, in the same time, Jaime still lost 10 lbs, dropped 7% body-fat, gained 6 lbs of lean muscle and lost over 6 inches in her waist and hips.  I’d say we accomplished all her goals.

Here’s what Jaime had to say:

I’ve spent my life struggling with my weight and like many, have tried various “plans” to get it under control.  The most recent plan happened to be the new and improved Weight Watchers Smart Points plan.  I can’t lie and say it didn’t work for me—I hit my goal weight within 6 months; however, after talking to my sister, Kori Rhode (a fellow Copper State Fit client) about macros and how tracking them works, I became curious as to how my maintenance plan compared.  After tracking my food in MyFitnessPal for a week I realized I was only consuming about 1200-1300 calories a day!  For maintenance that just didn’t seem healthy.

I contacted Copper State FIT, not only because the program came highly recommended from my sister, but because I knew that in order to keep my weight under control for the rest of my life I needed a healthier diet lifestyle.  I didn’t want a “gimmick” I could hop on and then hop off of once I got where I wanted to be.  I wanted something that I could do for life.  Working with Copper State FIT has been great.  As  coaches, they are awesome motivators yet tough on accountability.  Over the course of 6 months I lost a few percent in body fat and pounds but more importantly, through a reverse diet plan, I’ve been able to increase my daily calorie intake to a little over 1700 and counting!!

My advice to others; the same advice that the team at Copper State FIT consistently provide to clients on the support boards and in personal phone calls; “Trust the process!
