Before Copper State FIT, I was not eating enough to perform well in my workouts. A lot comes from practice, but I noticed I didn’t have energy; I was taking too many breaks. I was not getting the results that I wanted even though I (thought) I was doing good with my plan. I was not educated in nutrition. I was making a lot of the wrong choices. I was following what I saw others doing. If I saw one of my friends drinking something before workout, I would do it too.

This was frustrating because I thought something was wrong with me. I was trying my best and doing everything I could and I wasn’t seeing results. I didn’t want to be Wonder Woman. I just wanted to continue with CrossFit and not get tired in the middle of my workouts. I wanted more energy, more strength and I wanted to have more endurance while not having to take so many breaks during my workout.

I tried just about everything, you name it. I tried energy drinks (not a good idea). This just set me up for a horrible crash after the effect was gone. I hired two coaches before Copper State FIT. None of them talked to me about calories or macros. They just gave me a “diet/ meal plan” and that was it. The diets were your typical …”eat tons of chicken and vegetables and drink shakes”… to lose weight. None of those things worked.

I first heard about Copper State FIT when I saw one of my friends performing well in the gym. Not to mention, she was looking amazing after having her baby.  We both had a baby around the same time. I wanted to do what she was doing, so I asked her if she would share her secret. That was the first time I heard the word “macros” and learned about Copper State FIT.

After speaking with Adam on my consultation, I knew right away it was going to be different. He gave me the time that others didn’t. He explained how it would work for me based on my goals with CrossFit and my current lifestyle as a mom. He also helped me understand why the other things were not working. Turns out, a diet of 1200 calories for a nursing mom and CrossFit athlete was not ideal, LOL! No wonder I never had energy for anything!

Copper State FIT taught me to have a better relationship with food. Nothing was restricted, but everything was allowed in moderation. I realize now that I don’t have to starve myself to reach my goals. I’ve learned so much about nutrition that I never knew before.

Having more energy changes everything! I’m in a better mood for my family. I started losing weight, because my metabolism was now running the way it should. My workouts were much better with the right fuel from protein, vegetables and fruits and the right fats. Not, from energy drinks or shakes that I probably didn’t need. I also became very aware that the number on the scale is just that, a number. A number that doesn’t define me!

While working with Copper State FIT, I got pregnant with baby number 4. I continued to worked with my coach (Adam) all they way through my pregnancy and then again after.

I was provided with the nutritional guidance to help support a happy and healthy pregnancy. I got up to a healthy weight of 174 lbs. Then, I was able to quickly get back down to 125. I am now maintaining a healthy weight of ~130.

Over the last couple of years, I have gained gained a lot of muscle. I am very healthy and I am happy with my body composition. I am even more excited with my performance in my workouts! Proper nutrition is what it changed me completely.

Had I not made the decision to work with Copper State FIT, I would probably be in the same place I was before. I was spending lots of money on diets, meal plans and supplements. I am sure my performance would be the same.  If you don’t take the time to learn the nutrition part and understand what you are eating, then you are not going to change. That’s my biggest emphasis.

If you’re on the fence or considering Copper State FIT, invest in yourself!!! Your body and mind are the most important. Health comes first. You can definitely afford it!  We all spend to much money on junk that we don’t need. I consider this to be like insurance for when I get old. I prefer to spend my money on this. I am performing amazing in my workouts and I feel like I did as a teenager!
