Health and Fitness as always been an important part of my life but I could never seem to get the consistent results I wanted. Prior to trying Copper State FIT I would spend hours every week in the gym but not seem to make progress in either my physical appearance or performance in the gym because I never focused on my nutrition.
Then, a little over a year ago, I had a major accident that caused some injuries that kept me out of the gym for an extended period of time. That, combined with a lack of discipline in my nutrition, led to me gaining weight and being in the worst shape of my life
I was overweight and unhappy with my physical appearance. When combined with not having the ability to workout to release stress, my mental health was impacted at times as well.
I was frustrated that I couldn’t work out as much as I wanted to due to my injury and felt like I was going to continue to fall out of shape. I knew that even though I couldn’t control my injury and wasn’t able to workout the one thing I could control was what I ate. That is when I made the decision to reach out to Coach Adam and CSF
Prior to CSF I hadn’t tried many diet, products or services related to nutrition or losing weight. I thought I had a good idea of how to “eat healthy” and make smart choices. I thought I had read enough Men’s Health Magazine articles about things like “10 best foods to gain muscle” or “5 foods to fight belly fat” to know what my body needed.
If I felt like I needed to lose weight I would drastically reduce my carbs or what I knew as carbs like bread, pasta, rice etc and I felt like I could eat all the protein I wanted so I would eat tons of meat, peanut butter etc. That would just lead to my weight yo-yo-ing up and down because I couldn’t be consistent with something so restrictive.
What I think is different with CSF is that it doesn’t require you to eliminate any type of food from your diet; using the pillars that they teach allows you to eat anything you want but in moderation so that it fits into your plan.
The way the pillars are implemented in stages really allowed me to learn what my body needed one step at a time. The knowledge I gained while implementing those pillars has made the biggest difference for me.
I knew CSF was going to be the key to solving my problems almost immediately. The first couple of days of measuring, weighing, and logging my food helped me understand what I was consuming and how my estimates of what I was consuming were way off.
The light bulb went off in my head and I knew right away that I now had the answers to the test and it was up to me if I wanted to pass the test or not. If I tracked what I ate on a daily basis and stuck to the plan my coach gave me that I would meet my goals easily.
Since joining CSF I have been much happier, I feel a sense of accomplishment when I fit everything into my macros at the end of the day. My physical appearance and performance in the gym are no longer things I need to stress about. I can focus that energy on other parts of my life. I know I am doing the right things with my nutrition to reach my goals. I no longer feel that my efforts in the gym are wasted because I had poor nutrition. I might also spend more time looking in the mirror and flexing in front of my wife than I did before. ??
I have lost close to 20 lbs and 10% body fat since starting the program. I feel less sore from my workouts now that I am eating the proper foods. I turned 40 this year and had been working with CSF for 4 months at that time. I have had a goal of being the fittest and healthiest I have ever been by my 40th birthday and I can honestly say that I have achieved that goal.
If I hadn’t started with CSF I know I would still be unhappy with my physical appearance and putting more effort than needed in my workouts in order to just keep from getting worse.

I was able to achieve goals after 4 months of working with CSF that I had spent 8 years working towards with no success in the past.
